 About Hudson Newcomers Club

The Hudson Newcomers Club is a social organization that was established in 1954 to "acquaint the newcomer with Hudson, its residents and other newcomers".

While the club's original intent was to welcome newcomers, we are now open to ALL women of Hudson.  For those of you who've just moved in, you'll find our relaxed atmosphere and variety of members a great way to meet new friends and learn about all Hudson has to offer.  For those who are not new to Hudson but are seeking more contacts within the community, we hope you too will be rewarded by the exciting calendar of events throughout the year.  We have monthly programs for our general membership and also a variety of social events for couples and families.  Click here  to see more information on what's coming up next.

We also offer Special Interest Groups which allow members to meet and share their common interests.  Some, like Book Club and  Bunco, are for women only, while others, like Wine Tasting and Casual Supper, are for couples.  And now we even have something for the guys!  Men's Poker Night is now available for the spouses of members.  Please see our Special Interest Groups page for more information on these clubs and when they meet next.

Our monthly newsletter is filled with interesting information and our membership directory is published annually in the fall.

For more information on our club, please contact our President, Kami Imes, at president@hudsonnewcomers.org.  Brochures can also be found at the Hudson Library, local realtors' offices and the Hudson Chamber of Commerce.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

 Upcoming Events

Hudson Relay for Life - Race Day Details
4:00 pm Friday to 4:00 pm Saturday, June 12 - June 13
Hudson High School School Track
2500 Hudson-Aurora Road

What is Relay for Life and how can I help?
Relay for Life is a fun, team based, overnight event sponsored by the American Cancer Society.  It is a family-friendly event that helps raise funds for cancer research.  Our Team Goal is $3,000.  As of June 2, we were at 88% of our goal, with a total of $2,653 raised to date.  Help us meet and exceed our goal by going to www.relayforlife.org/hudson to donate online.

How can I support the event?
Grab your family and just show up.  Attached is a listing of all the activities, and there are a lot.  You can walk around the track with your family, participate in a 5K, listen to music, visit with neighboring teams, watch fireworks, experience the track being surrounded by luminaries in honor of or in memory of loved ones.

What should I bring?
Bring a jacket if you are coming in the evening or sunblock during the day.  Bring a chair if you want to sit and watch.  Bring cash because several teams will be selling items like food, crafts, drinks, tattoos, massages, trinkets, etc. to raise funds for the day.  Just bring yourself and have fun.

What is Hudson Newcomers' role in this?
We have partnered with Hudson Preschool Parents to organize our own team.  We will have our own tent and are raising our own funds to go toward our $3,000 team goal.

Who should I contact if I would like more information?
Kimberly Cartella, our Community Service coordinator,  at
communityservice@hudsonnewcomers.org

What else can I do to help?
Donate to our team online at www.relayforlife.org/hudson.  Our official team is Hudson Preschool Parents/Hudson Newcomers.
